Clinical Services
Prices, Procedures and Payments You will be asked to provide information about payment and medical history prior to any medical treatment. After the hospital has reviewed your medical report, staff members will be able to provide you with a list of items necessary for your medical care and estimated fees for services. Advance financial arrangements can also be made with your embassy, referring employers or healthcare insurance companies.
Centers of ExcellenceNeurology and Neurosurgery The neurology and neurosurgery departments together comprise Northwest Texas Healthcare System Neurological Institute. The institute is internationally known for treating an entire range of neurological problems, from chronic back pain and sleep disorders to rare tumors of the brain. Special areas of expertise include: cranial base surgery, complex spinal surgeries, including spinal endoscopic procedures, interventional neuro-radiology, neuro-oncology, neuro-physiology, stereotactic and radiosurgery, and the treatment of neuromuscular disorders, sleep disorders, spinal injuries, epilepsy and epilepsy surgery, stroke and pain management.
Obstetrics Northwest Texas Healthcare System focuses on treating women in each phase of life with special attention to childbirth. Women's health specialists coordinate care from a variety of clinical departments including: labor and delivery, obstetrics and gynecology. Comprehensive medical treatment is supplemented by a full spectrum of prenatal classes, childbirth education classes and patient education. Additionally, Northwest Texas Healthcare System continues to gain recognition for its successes and expertise in handling high-risk pregnancies. A specially trained staff, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Labor and Delivery suites have helped the hospital excel in this specialty.
Neonatal Intensive Care The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of the most established and respected in the Amarillo region, with on-staff neonatologists and specially trained nurses.
Trauma/Emergency Medicine Northwest Texas Healthcare System has an emergency department with a long history of providing medicine in a caring and efficient environment. The Level III Trauma Center cares for about 57,000 patients each year, including serious injuries. Physicians work in cooperation with other in-house specialists to provide immediate quality treatment for chest pain and other life threatening conditions.
Mental Health The Pavilion has been a leader in the field of behavioral health for over 30 years, and the Pavilion's experts provide high quality care in an atmosphere that nurtures healing and growth.
